Poor voice message quality on iPhone 16 Pro Max's iMessage

I have a 16 pro max and people can barely make out my voice recordings.They are noisy and staticky as if I am calling from the middle of a hurricane.My voice notes sound GREAT on any other platform.Messenger, WhatsApp, my Notes all sound wonderful it's only on I message that they sound awful.I have cleaned all the mics over and over as well as recycling the phone over and over with no success.This virtually makes this feature useless.Yes there are some work arounds but they are time consuming and more importantly should not be necessary.Looking for any suggestions that would keep me from throwing my phone into the trash.
