MacBook Air or MacBook Pro

Hi guys.

I want to buy a MacBook and I don't know whether to choose Air in the configuration: 10 core CPU 10 core GPU 24gb RAM and 512gb 15 inches or Pro in: 16gb RAM 512gb m4 and 14 inches.

In Poland Air in this configuration cost 1390 euro and Pro 1760 euro.

Impossible to answer, since we have no idea what you plan on doing with it, what kind of budget you have or whether or not you need the extra RAM or the extra ports and features of the MacBook Pro.

Only you can say what you may need based on your use case.

For video editing and gaming, I believe you need to consider the Pro.

M-series Macbook Airs have no cooling fans; they are convection-cooled. The entry-level Macbook Pro has two fans. Macbook Pros have more ports as well.

We are seeing a lot of reports here of over-heating Macbook Airs. Video work, streaming videos including video-conferencing, and gaming are all known to increase internal temperatures in computers.

If your main use is video editing, coding, and gaming, the Pro is the safer bet. The Air with 24GB RAM looks tempting on paper, but it has no fans, so it’ll throttle under heavy loads, you’ll feel that when rendering or gaming.

The Pro has active cooling, better sustained performance, and extra ports, which makes a real difference once you push the machine hard.

If you mostly want portability and battery life, go Air. If you care about performance over long sessions, go Pro
