USB Super Drive not recognizing music CDs

I have noticed in the last week or so, that my USB Super Drive is not recognizing music CDs. It just spins inside the drive and then after about 2-3 minutes ejects the disc. I tried unplugging the drive and then powering down my MacBook Pro, waiting 30 seconds, then powering back up and plugging in the drive…and still no such luck. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does the drive work with other disc types? When you first connect the drive, are you prompted to allow the accessory to connect (assuming you have that setting enabled, which it is by default)?

I am able to load Audio CDs just fine on two different MacBook Pro computers (M1 Pro and M4 Pro), running 15.6.1. When inserted, after allowing the accessory to connect, the Music app opens and I am prompted to import the CD, which is the normal behavior.
