Can Playback Plugin in Mainstage display marker info for mp3 audio files?

I am triggering clicks, tracks, cues from Mainstage and have to bounce everything as .wav files from LPX for MS to display the marker info from these audio files - which means multiple 100+ MB files being played at the same time. Is it possible to import mp3 on Mainstage, and somehow retain the marker info from logic and get it displayed on the Playback Plugin?

I'm worried about overloading my mac and tracks glitching midway. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
