AirPlay out of sync on Sony Bravia 8 TV from MacBook Pro 2023

When I AirPlay Netflix from my MacBook Pro 2023 M2 Max (Sequoia 15.6.1) to my Sony Bravia 8 TV, the audio is out of sync. How do I use AirPlay so that the video and audio are in sync? When I connect HDMI, it's in sync; but I would rather not be wired to the TV because, in my apartment, it's a tripping hazard and can cause the table-mounted TV to fall over.

Do I need to buy an Apple TV to be able to stream wirelessly from my MacBook to the TV? Or is there another way I can stream wirelessly?

Airplay of content that is locked down and restricted, such as Netflix, and can be very cranky when asked to forward to a different device. Netflix does not want you sending that content to a recorder, so the sometimes block for distort it.

Also, have you spent some time actually watching over-the Wi-Fi Airplay-quality content? Action can be grainy and jerky and slow because the data rates needed for smooth operation are FAR higher than most Wi-Fi connections can produce, even after compression/decompression.

My recommendation is to place your portable computer right on the table next to the TV set on a good quality PREMIUM HDMI cable, and watch your shows using that HDMI cable connection.
