Not able to log into iCloud app on Windows 11 Laptop

Hi, I've just purchased a new laptop running windows 11. I have downloaded the iCloud app but cannot log into this? I have reset my apple password and still cannot log in.

I receive an error - "THIS ACTION CANNOT BE COMPLETED. PLEASE TRY AGAIN". Interestingly if type a fictious password I do receive a password incorrect error, which makes me believe that it is not my account details that are stopping me from logging in.
