Xbox controller not recognized in Easy Come Easy Golf on Apple TV 4K

I also tried a Series X controller. It seems like it wants me to click to advance but it will not recognize any inputs. If it was a tablet, you would tap to go forward. It says a controller is required.

Seems like a fun game. Other games work with my Xbox controller.
