Blocked Group chat on I phone but still get notifications on Apple watch

I got added to a group chat by mistake by one of my friends and I wanted to leave the group but I couldn’t bc of android users. I clicked the delete and block conversation on phone. I thought that would stop the notifications since I’m my Apple Watch app I have my notifications on mirror my iPhone. I have the Apple Watch series one so I don’t know if that has to do with my issue. I don’t want to block everyone in the conversation because some of them are my friends so that wouldn’t work.
