is it possible to merge group messages with identical users both iphone and android? I know this has cone up hundreds of times but can’t find answers

No one here would know what Apple is working on for the future. You can certainly let them know what you'd like to see here:
This has nothing to do with not playing nice with Android phones. You can't merge any conversation threads, even if everyone is using iMessage.
You can't merge different group threads, regardless of who is in them.
