On an Intel Mac 2018 you can try from the Terminal.app copy and paste:
sudo nvram auto-boot=false
(Please note: your psswd will not echo, type it in anyway, to proceed use the enter/return key)
report back your success or failure.

You do not say what exact Mac is this...(?)
nor what exact macOS or OSX ...(?)
There are 63 models of MacBook Pro going back to 2006, as you might imagine they are not all the same.
Remember that the procedure outlined here will only work to prevent auto-wake when the MacBook's lid is opened or when it's connected to power (Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) MacBooks).
Touching/clicking the track pad or pressing any key will still wake the device.
You’ll need to provide ⇢ Product Feedback.
If enough requests are made, your feedback might help with future development, like a toggle in the settings.
Good luck! 👋🏼😉
