i was typing a long email message on ipad in AIL and was about to send it when my ipad dies...It took hours to write it. How can I get my message back. It is not in the draft folder. Why doesn't apple send me a message when it's about to shut down? You

Either you did receive a message when your iPad battery fell below some threshold (and perhaps you often allow the battery to get this low and chose to ignore the message, or perhaps that message came a while ago and you are now far below that threshold), or your iPad experienced a hardware failure that could not be predicted.
You said “AIL”, which I will guess means “AOL”. If the message is not in their draft area, you should consider using a different email service provider.
