Control Key remains pressed however the key is not physically pressed.

MacBook Air M2. 2022. Sequoia 15.6.

Last week after the update I am unable to select anything with the tap in the touchpad. The taps were rather acting like the right click. After trying reinstalling the MacOS (advised by Apple Support) and several restarts I finally found in the Keyboard Viewer that the Control Key is pressed automatically and always. This does not let me enter my login password even unless connected to an external keyboard nor does it allow me to select any thing with the touchpad. Rest all other keys are working fine and the touchpad too (gestures and scroll are working fine). No history of coffee or tea spilling in my Mac.

Any help, anybody?
