This is going to be more than selecting a contact and printing. So if you are indeed wanting to print a page with multiple labels, there's a few steps to make this work. These instructions are going to work with Apple Pages and Numbers as it with with Microsoft Word and Excel.

First things first though. If you already have your labels, you will need the template, usually based on Avery labels. So check your labels and obtain the template from Avery while using your iPad. Choose the App you will be using to make the labels: Pages or Word, and select the appropriate template. Once you download the template, you'll need to open it to have it available in the App you're going to use.

To print address labels from your iOS Contacts using Pages, you can utilize the mail merge feature in Pages, using a Numbers spreadsheet as your data source. First, export your contacts from the Contacts app to a CSV file or Numbers spreadsheet. Then, create a new document in Pages using an envelope or label template. Use the mail merge function to link the relevant fields (name, address, etc.) in your Pages document to the corresponding columns in your spreadsheet. Finally, merge the data and print your labels.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Export Contacts:

  • From Contacts:
  • Select the contacts you want to use. You can select all, or individual contacts, or create a group.
  • Export Options:
    • CSV: If you prefer, export your contacts as a CSV file.
    • Numbers: If you want to edit your data further, export to a Numbers spreadsheet.

2. Prepare Pages Document:

  • Open Pages: Launch the Pages app on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone.
  • Choose Template: Select a suitable envelope or label template. You can also download templates from Avery. https://www.avery.com/templates
  • Insert Placeholders: Insert merge fields (placeholders) into your document where you want the contact information to appear.

3. Mail Merge:

  • Open Mail Merge: In Pages, locate the mail merge feature. On a Mac, it's in the Document menu. On iPad and iPhone, it's found under the three dots (more options).
  • Link Data: Connect your Pages document to your spreadsheet or CSV file you created above.
  • Map Fields: Link the merge fields in Pages to the corresponding columns in your spreadsheet (e.g., "First Name" to "First Name" column).
  • Preview: Review the merged data to ensure everything is correctly mapped.

4. Print:

  • Print Setup: Ensure your printer is set up correctly and that you've selected the right label size or envelope type.
  • Print: Initiate the print process.

Some thing you may want to do before creating your labels.or exporting your contacts is to go through your contacts and make sure all addresses and names are formatted and labeled the same. This will prevent data from filling in in the wrong spaces in your label.

Do you have an AirPrint or Wireless printer? If yes, then the answer to your questions is Yes, and it's easier than you think.

If you have your wireless printer setup on your iPad, you're ready to print! However, understand, if you're looking to bulk print your entire address book, it's not going to happen.

To print your labels, open the Contacts app on your iPhone. Select a contact and tap on the Share Contact option. Choose Print from the menu. Select your label printer from the list of AirPrint devices. My Epson printer isn't an AirPrint printer, but it is WiFi with the Epson software installed, so after I select Print, the Epson model shows up and I can print. What I don't know, but am assuming, is you should be prompted for the paper type. Make sure to select the appropriate labels you have.

But here's the problem. It'll print one single label at a time and your printer will eject the labels sheet with only one label.

I'm going to dig a bit to see if we can get your address book in a format that will let us fill each page before printing. While I do that, please let me know if you have Microsoft Office or are relying on Apple apps. Again, either way, I'll try and locate and answer for either or both.
