iPad unable to connect to messages

iPad 6th gen, 17.7.9

Messages were not syncing with iPhone so toggled messages on and off. Accidentally entered incomplete password and it got stuck verifying. Exited and tried again. Same issue. Changed password, same issue.


Have now tried:

  • home wifi
  • hotspotting to a different phone
  • restarting
  • resetting network settings


iphone is now also stuck as the iPad is the 2factor device and not receiving the code there
