Why do I have "Watch Faces by Facer" app on my iMac that I can't delete?

1.) I do not currently have a "Facer" account (watch faces)

2.) I do not currently have the "Facer" app on my iPhone

3.) I do not have the "Facer" app on my SE Watch.

However...

My iMac shows a "Watch Faces by Facer" app which indicates an "Update" but it wont update and I don't have a "Facer" app on this iMac anywhere. There is no Facer in Apps (system or user apps) and I find no files with "facer" anywhere with multitudes of searches.

I want to rid myself of this "Facer" on my iMac... but HOW??? I may have tried Facer a number of years ago. Read points 1 to 3 above again.

The reason you are unable to find an app by that name is probably that no app by that name exists on your Mac.

No one but you can possibly know what you may have installed on your Mac a number of years ago. Did you consider contacting its developer for assistance? Perhaps https://help.facer.io/hc/en-us?

If that is not its developer or if they are unable to provide any assistance consider using EtreCheck. Instructions: How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report - Apple Community

For future reference:

  • Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don't want it any more.

Thanks for a reply but I posted here for help... not to be scolded. I can assure you I never added "Facer" to my iMac. I did load Facer to my iPhone but my account and iPhone app have been deleted. I can only assume the iPhone app added an assistant or such to my iMac as there is a Facer web app that could be ran on the iMac.

As for contacting the developer. I did that. There was no reply. I'm sure they get a zillion support requests per day.

This is what I found using AI search: The "Faces" app you see on your iMac is likely related to the Apple Watch and its watch faces, not the iMac itself. It's designed to help you manage and customize the watch faces on your Apple Watch, either through your iPhone (linked to your watch) or directly on the watch itself. You can use it to choose different designs, adjust colors and features, and add them to your collection.

On my iMac "Apps" shows a pending update for it but it's won't update nor can I find a way to delete it. Web searches only return results for deleting on Phones and watches. I find nothing about how to delete the iMac "helper" app.

Why do I have "Watch Faces by Facer" app on my iMac that I can't delete?
