How do I free up iCloud storage space on my iPad?

Hi .. I have zillions of duplicate photos and videos taking up unnecessary space (I know I take too many!) but I’ve read on here that despite the good reviews the ‘clean up apps’ are a scam

are there any alternatives please to avoided the £10/month iCloud fee? Or is manual deleting the only real way

In photos, navigate to utilities, duplicates. Merge any duplicates that you wish.

Thank you both… I took a look and there were only 14 duplicates?? That would have been great if it worked … bursts would be another good one

bit it did show me other grouping like hand writing… so I’ve manage to do a quick clean up

Such a close estimate!

And, by the way, you are right to never use any of those ‘clean up apps’ -- they can corrupt the Photos Library as well as other data.
