Strange Apple iPhone 15 Pro iOS 18.6 (22G86) behaviour when selecting mail from search results

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone else has come across this strange behaviour when selecting mail

items after searching.

In my iPhone’s Mail app I carried out a search across All Mailboxes.

It produced a list of mail items for me.

I then tapped on Edit, and then went about selecting each specific mail item I wanted to delete. What I found was that tapping on any item will also select a completely unrelated email in the list. One that I definitely hadn’t tapped on and don’t want to delete. (I screen recorded this behaviour then found I wasn’t able to post it, or a photo of it, on here.)

What concerns me is whether or not there might be other mail items that are invisibly being ‘selected’, that exist either above or below what I can see on the screen, that will then be deleted as well.

Any ideas people?
