Does excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) damage MacBook keyboard over time?

Hey everyone,

I have hyperhidrosis, so my hands sweat quite a lot, especially when I’m working or typing. I use a MacBook Pro 2020, and I noticed that my slightly damp fingers leave marks on the keyboard. My concern is: can this constant exposure to sweat and moisture cause the letters on the keys to wear off or damage the keyboard over time?

I try to keep my hands as dry as possible, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. Has anyone else with hyperhidrosis experienced this? To be honest, I'm not keen on keyboard protectors, as I've read that they kill the feel of typing and cause problems with screen contact. Also, does sweat cause any long-term harm to the MacBook’s keyboard mechanics or lettering?

Thanks in advance for your advice! I want to make sure I take care of my device while managing my condition.
