Apple TV 4K - Bluetooth Limitations

I have an old (like really old) Samsung Bluetooth soundbar which connect fine to my iPad, google tv’s and other devices but will not pair with either of my AppleTV 4k units. Even sitting within inches of it. I have one WiFi 4k and one Ethernet 4k and neither will pair. They see the soundbar but will not connect. Again the soundbar works and pairs fine on other Apple devices. Does the AppleTV 4k require a specific version of BT or higher to work?
