Annoying pop-up text window appears when trying to take screen grabs

try making changes to your Options....

Shift Command 5 make changes to suit your needs

after I have my options set— I use the older short cuts

I'm using Press Shift-Command-4, then moving the crosshair pointer to where I want to start the screenshot. That's when that pops up.

Could you indicate the exact location of the option to turn the text off? I can't see anything that relates to that.

hmmm... seems odd; you do not say if this is an old issue, a new issue, or what changed(?)

If this was a trackpad I would recommend looking at your Trackpad settings...and make some changes

and see if this effects the mouse over

There may well be something similar for Mouse settings(?)

The alternative is simply use Shift Command 3 for the screen shot and crop it down
