HomePod not playing music from iPad

The music doesn’t make sound from the HomePod but it does from a iPad. It does not let me switch it. Music app doesn’t connect. Tap to AirPlay doesn’t connect with HomePod.

if it was me then I would

force restart the ipad

Restart your iPad - Apple Support


pull the plug on homepod and wifi router and let them start up again


and then I would try again airplaying to the homepod

  • Make sure your iPhone or iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi network (Settings > Wi-Fi) as your HomePod.
  • In Find My settings, make sure My Location is set to This Device on your iPhone or iPad. Go to Settings  > [your name] > Find My, then set My Location to This Device. Tap My Location to change it This Device if it shows iPhone.
