How to restore full text dates on iPhone after September 2024?

A contact and I have exchanged texts since year 2022 and in looking at the dates sent and received, thru August 2024 it shows the month-day-year and time. Afterwards, starting in September 2024, only the Month-day and time show. So I am wondering why. or is it a bug?
