How can I add alternate Face ID on iPhone 14 running iOS 18.6?

If the face you scan for Alternate Appearance is completely different from the original Face ID profile, the iPhone may refuse to register it. Face ID isn’t designed to treat Alternate Appearance as a second independent user profile—it still looks for underlying structural similarities, such as the shape of the chin, eyes, forehead, and cheekbones.

If Face ID doesn’t accept the new scan, the best workaround is to reset Face ID entirely and then set it up again. You can start fresh by registering the primary face first, and then add the Alternate Appearance as a second scan.

I don’t see Face ID settings either on IOS 18.6 on Settings. I just shaved my beard and now my phone sometime don’t recognize my face. I needed to update it.
