Final Cut Pro will not record voiceover

2024 M3 MacBook Air Sequoia 15.6 Final Cut Pro 11.1.1

Just add full version of FCP and cannot record voiceovers. Microphone fully functional across different applications including FCP Trial.

Full Version FCP will not record with external OR internal microphone. Window opens up, meters move accordingly with sound, but as soon as you stop, recording disappears.

Community and YouTube have advised in much older posts about 'Full Disk Access" and permissions via Security for microphone. It has all of these and will not work.

Removed and reinstall brought more of the same.

I am stuck, bewildered and with only 2 weeks left on trial, extremely frustrated.

There is a new FCP bug that causes VO recordings to disappear if the Storage Location set in FCP is different from where the library is stored. Perhaps you are running into this.
