How can I move Word document to flash drive on my MacBook Pro?

First go to Finder > Settings > General and make sure the box for External disks is check marked to show those items on the desktop.

Plug the flash drive into a USB port on the Mac. The drive should show up on the desktop. You can double-click it to open its Finder window.

Drag the Word file from its current location to the flash drive and release it. The computer will write a copy of the file to the flash drive.

Old issue, new issue, what changed?

Finder>Settings>Sidebar> Locations>External disk

Finder>Settings>General> Desktop items> External disk...

don't see Locations spin it open by moving your mouse to the right side to reveal & click the caret

What format is the "flash" drive.
