Siri won’t call or text on Car Play

I updated to OS 18.6 on my 15 Pro Max and now Siri won’t make phone calls or start a text message when I push the “Siri” button on my steering wheel when connected to CarPlay. When I tell Siri to “call” someone in my contacts, Siri says “They doing that on your iPhone, when you’re not driving of course.” Doesn’t that kind of defeat the proper of CarPlay? I can’t blame this on my car because it was working fine until the I updated to OS 18.6. Is anyone else having this issue?
