how do i download Macos 12
when i do a software update all i get is checking for updates and it never loads has anyone had this issue before i have attached a picture

Monterey requires a 2015 or later iMac.
With that said, the fact it's not ending the search for an update is an issue, but not related to finding macOS 12.
To get a newer major version of macOS, you need to do, through the App Store app.
