Stuttering, broken audio on Apple Watch Series 10 with AirPods Pro2

I've had my Apple Watch Series 10 for about three weeks. When I got it I was using a pair of cheap Anker earbuds which worked well enough, for a time. Then the problem above started; about two seconds into playing a piece of music (Spotify), or a podcast (the Apple Podcasts app), the audio broke up and became unlistenable. When it was not breaking up, the playback speed was wrong, (usually too slow).

Updating the AW didn't help, so I went down the path of buying the AirPods thinking 'hey, surely the fact that these two products are made by the same manufacturer will mean this problem won't exist, right? Wrong.

I will be returning the AirPods soon unless Apple replies to this post offering a solution.

If your Apple Watch Series 10 has stuttering or broken audio when using AirPods Pro 2, try these quick fixes:

  1. Restart both your Apple Watch and AirPods.
  2. Unpair and re-pair the AirPods with your watch.
  3. Make sure Bluetooth and software are up to date.
  4. Avoid interference – move away from other wireless devices.
  5. Use your iPhone instead for smoother audio, if needed.
