can I connect my ipod classic (7th Gen) to multiple bluetooth speakers?

It easily connects with either of my Beats pill speakers, but unlike my MacBook Air, I cannot seem to find a way to connect it to both at the same time. Any suggestions?

The iPod Classic does not have Bluetooth, so I wonder if you mean an iPod Touch?

Assuming that you do mean an iPod Touch, your question has a complex answer. Read on and you will see what I mean.

First scenario:

I have a 6th generation iPod Touch and while I can connect it to two separate Bluetooth speakers, when I connect the second one, it takes over and the audio comes through that second speaker. The first one stops playing the audio.

My experiment is not exhaustive; I had another device somewhere in the house that was trying to connect, which may have affected what I was doing, but I think the answer to your question is no - you cannot connect an iPod to two different speakers at the same time.

However:

Second scenario:

There are Bluetooth speakers that can be paired to one another so that the iPod is connected to one, and that one is connected to a second one of the same brand and model. In this case, the two speakers usually become a stereo pair, with one acting as the left speaker and the other the right speaker.

The more recent models of JBL speakers can do this (e.g. the Charge 6, Charge 5, the Flip 6 and the JBL Xtreme 4), as can the Roberts Beacon 330. I am not recommending any of them, you will have to decide for yourself whether any of those speakers can do what you want. I think there may be other manufacturers whose speakers can do it as well.

From a user point of view, the iPod is connected to "one speaker". That is, you cannot randomly pair up two speakers of different brands or even two different models.

My old JBL Charge 3 cannot be paired to a second one.
