iPad not receiving text messages since April 2025

My iPad stopped receiving text messages last April (2025). I have iOS 18. It is now August. Please help suggest what setting changed so I can fix this. My 'go to' is my MacBook Air, 15.4 where I get messages daily, no problem. I always, if possible check messages with my laptop, because I respond with typing on my keyboard.
