Security warning when I print using my Epson printer from my iPad

Another thread just like this has been closed, so I'm opening anew one, same issue.

All the answers on the previous thread were of the ilk "reboot this, reboot that, update firmware, reset your iPad."

I'm here to say, those are unacceptable answers. Apple did something to cause this, and they need to do something to un-cause it. The "reboot/reset" canned answer is a cop-out due to lazy programming. The canned answer doesn't work most of the time as evidenced by the comments (and not just for this issue, by any issue that gets the canned response.). I say this from 40 years of software support experience. I'm not some noob whining.

Come on Apple, up your game. Its little annoyances like this that add up over time and at some point your patience is gone and you just want to chuck the whole thing. Of. course Apple has enough money that they probably really don't care for the corner case noise like this. Take care of the cornses and the middle takes care of itself.

I have nothing to add to the technical solutions but just wanted to vent. I'm the "admin" for my family and friends and I tire of excusing Apple's quirks.

By the way, if anyone has a real answer for this, it would be much appreciated.

Is your goal here venting possibly mixed with commiseration, or a fix?

If you want a fix for this, which Canon G6000 printer, and which firmware is installed?

Yes, you will want to update your iPhone, and update the Canon printer firmware, and update your Wi-Fi network firmware, and restart all, too.

I’d expect this issue is with the particular Epson G6000-series printer. Whether something changed within the printer context, or a printer self-signed certificate wasn’t re-generated quite correctly, or a local router is not playing nicely, or maybe something else? Canon G6000-series has had issues with AirPrint before, too.

If you want more technical troubleshooting than can be provided vis forum postings, provide remote access into the network, or provide direct local access, and somebody with familiarity with network troubleshooting can examine the local network design and local network traffic, as well as other configuration details, and potentially determine a more specific cause.
