Is this dead pixel in my screen? (Macbook Pro M3 Pro 16")

I thought it was dust, I cleaned it but it didn't go away, I was curious and took a photo with my iPhone macro camera, and this is the result.

Chat GPT says:

This image clearly shows a localized color blot or pixel anomaly—the small area with a green/blue tinge suggests either:

  1. Stuck Pixel(s) – Subpixels (red, green, or blue) can sometimes get “stuck” in the on position. This is more common than dead pixels and can occasionally be fixed with software.
  2. Pressure Mark or Display Layer Defect – If there’s been any pressure on that spot, even momentarily, it could have caused a discoloration in the liquid crystal layer.
  3. Debris Beneath the Panel or Coating Issue – Rare, but it could be something underneath the top layer that’s refracting light oddly.

To Check if It’s Temporary:

Try these steps:

✅

Restart your Mac

  • Just to be sure it isn’t a graphical glitch (unlikely, but worth testing).

✅

Use an All-White and All-Black Background

  • Observe if the blot is still visible. If it is visible regardless of what’s on screen, it’s likely a hardware issue.

✅

Gently Rub the Spot

  • Use a soft cloth and very gentle pressure to “massage” the area. If it’s a stuck pixel, sometimes that can free it.

✅

Run a Stuck Pixel Fixer Tool

  • Online tools like JScreenFix rapidly flash RGB values and may help if it’s a stuck subpixel. Let it run for 10+ minutes.
