Apple Maps disconnects from car radio using Bluetooth

When I try to use Apple Maps with Bluetooth on my 2014 Mazda CX5, it will connect to the car radio like a phone call. It will give one direction, make a noise, and disconnect. After this happens, if I ask Siri to disconnect and then ask to give directions again, it doesn't reconnect to the radio. If I turn off the bluetooth, I can get direction through the phone itself. I know it's got to be something with the connection because in my classic car I have a bluetooth speaker and I have no issues using Apple Maps for apps such as Sirius or Pandora. When this disconnect happens, I am driving so there haven't been too many things I could try when it happens.
