Apple Cash taken, Apple Card not applied. Neither company knows

I made a payment to my Apple Card using my Apple Cash the money cleared and was taken from my Apple Cash but not credited to my Apple Card. I then got an email from Goldman Sachs (Apple Card) saying the payment was unsuccessful. When I spoke with a representative they are saying that it appears to have been cancelled from my end, which it was not. I think spoke with GreenDot (Apple Cash) and they said that they money cleared and was sent. Neither company seems to think that they have the money and because of that, neither are able to either apply it to my card or refund it back to my Apple Cash. Both companies are unwilling to conference call so that we can figure this out. What can I do so I am not just out that money?

OK, that will help. I’m going to explain the process so you understand how the money moves and how you can start to trace the funds and resolve the issue.

When you click pay using the Apple Card in Apple Wallet on your iPhone. Goldman Sachs sends a receipt for payment and simultaneously sends a debit request for the amount you paid to Green Dot Bank (Apple Cash). The debit has a tracking number (tracing). If Green Dot sent the funds, they did so because Goldman Sachs sent a debit request. Ask Green Dot support for the Trace/Tracking number that was on the debit request. Once you receive the number, call an Apple Card Specialist at Goldman Sachs and give them the trace number.

If either party refuses, you’ll need to tell them you’re filing a complaint with CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau).

Contact Green Dot Bank:

  • by calling (877) 233-8552,
  • by mail for disputes at P.O. Box 9, West Chester, Ohio,
  • by mail for general customer service at P.O. Box 1070, West Chester, Ohio 45071,
  • visit www.greendot.com

CONTACTING — Goldman Sachs Bank

Call each bank. Do not message etc. Request the name of the support person you talked to and write it down.

If you have a complaint about a prepaid account, call the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at 1-855-411-2372 or visit cfpb.gov/complaint.

If you want to understand the process more I can provide more greater details on how a payment on your Apple Card account works. Please keep me posted on how this works out.
