Ipod Classic and Apple Silicon Based Mac Compatibility

I have an Ipod Classic. I would like to connect it to my Macbook Pro M2 running Sequioa 15.6. Will it work? I assume that I have to restore the Ipod Classic to factory settings. I also Assume I have to find a compatible cable to plug into the M2 USB-C ports.

ANy person who has done it? Thanks in Advance.
