I am getting a blue question mark instead of images and unable to open pdf on Patreon website

I have tried updating the iPad, resetting it and the router, clearing the cache but cannot open pdf or see certain images using the Patreon website and app. My connection is fine and I have tried both safari and chrome browsers. I have attached 2 images which show the issue.

If your iPad is not operating as expected, try a forced-restart - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Check that Date & Time and TimeZone are correctly set for your iPad - as these settings are known to cause various functional issues if incorrectly configured - in particular with TLS/SSL secure connections:

Settings > General > Date & Time

Ensure that the TimeZone matches your current location. By example, if you are in London (UK):

If the Time Zone settings are ghosted - and cannot be adjusted - you'll need to check (and temporarily change) your ScreenTime permissions:

Settings > ScreenTime > Content & Privacy Restrictions > [Allow Changes] Account Changes - set to Allow

After changing the TimeZone settings, you can return your ScreenTime settings to how they were previous configured.

If your iPad remains unable to automatically set and maintain the correct time for your TimeZone, you can manually set the time. To do so:

Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically - set to OFF

You can now manually set the correct date and time. When manually setting date and time, ensure that you are using an accurate external time source; if not correctly set to within a minute or two of the correct time, many services may not operate correctly - if at all. When manually setting date and time, you must still select the correct TimeZone for your location.

Hi thanks for the advice, however I have tried this and there is still the blue question mark in place of images.

The time zone is correct. I have also tried using and disabling a vpn.

I am still unable to open the pdf files that the creator on Patreon has posted and notice that sometimes the files appear and sometimes they don’t.
