It will help us get a good idea of what is causing your problem if you provide a report of your system, that way we do not have to play 20 questions with you. The report we are requesting does NOT provide any personal information and is extremely safe to use. Please navigate to www.Etrecheck.com and download the free version of EtreCheck. Once you have you downloaded the app and installed it, please run the report and save it. This report will help us get a good idea what has been installed on your system and help us be able to diagnose what may be wrong.

When you have your report, you can attach it when you reply to this message and we can then review it and help you determine what is needed to get your system running well again.

For instructions on how to download your EtreCheck report and attach it to your reply to this message please click How to use the Add Text Feature When Post… - Apple Community It is helpful to us if you download the report to your Desktop.

Are you associated with Quicken? I have researched whether EreCheckPro is safe to use, and am getting conflicting reports. I will do further research. I have a brand new iMac and don't want to screw it up.

Etrechedk is very safe and secure to use. It was developed by a long time contributor to these forums. It does not include any personal information, only info about your setup - hardware & software, and it even hides the name of your drives, i.e. my Toad Hall primary drive is listed as T*******l. It's totally safe and the best diagnostic app for users, by far.

Without it we don't have access to your Mini and are not clairvoyant so there's little we can do to help.

Malwarebytes doesn’t affect performance. Running it doesn’t fix anything. All Malwarebytes does is collect system information and create a report, thats it. It makes no changes to your system. So what we’re asking is that you run Malwarebytes and post the report created here. Then others can read the report and see if anything your in system might be causing your issue.

Do you mean my apps, programs and configuration. I'm not real computer savvy. My Quicken has worked great for the last 20 years or so and all of a sudden last Fall it stated to get the "beach ball" when loading. My daughter experiences the same with her Windows computer. She has just decided to deal with the slowness, whereas I am more demanding on how my computer works. Maybe I will have to throw in the towel and just deal with it also. I am very apprehensive about installing any new programs onto my computer.

We are all end users on this forum. Neither Apple or Quicken read or reply to user to user forums.

If you want to speak to either Quicken or Apple directly you will need to make the effort to contact them. You can call AppleCare, for Quicken I have no idea as it is not a product I use.

If you want assistance on these forums please follow the instructions provided in my initial post.

To reinforce rkaufmann87's request for an Etrecheck report here's an additional request:

Please download and run Etrecheck.  The free version is sufficient.

Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support  to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

Copy the report

and after clicking on the Reply button use the Additional Text button to paste the report in your reply.

Check Etrecheck's Privacy settings and make sure the checkbox for full disk access before running:

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine the cause of the problem.

I think you mean Etrecheck Pro.

Mucksiegooma: Please run Etrecheck and post the report as I mentioned previously.
