I do not see rooms on my apple tv that I have setup under Home on my ipad under the same iCloud account

If the used Apple Accounts are the same for both devices (for registered/​primary user and iCloud services), then it should work. I can’t replicate your issue. When I added a new named room to the Home app on iPad, then that room also appeared on my Apple TV box in Setting﹥AirPlay and HomeKit﹥.


As the Apple TV box is potentially a multi-user device, verify that this Apple Account was used to register the device during setup, as well as the primary user, and the account for iCloud services, and the current active user.


  1. What happens when you undo the new room name, and instead add that room name through the Apple TV box settings? Does that give you the wanted functionality? Does it propagate to the iPad Home app?
  2. What happens when you undo the new room name, and do a cold restart of both devices, then try again?


If the issue persists after that, then please contact an expert from the Apple Support staff for further assistance. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/​email/​callback).
