Black screen then crash and reboot

I was watching a youtube video in brave browser and all of a sudden the screen turns black. Macbook shuts down and then I press power button to start it again.

I have the system.log but I don't know what to look for. I have searched for "panic" which was not found.

I would love an explanation to what causes this.

Can someone knowledgeable take a look at the log file and see if there is anything I can do to avoid this happening again?

Pretty sure crash is sometime between 15:25 - 15:35.

If it had a Kernel Panic, then you need to look specifically for the Kernel Panic logs. You neglected to mention the exact model of your Mac and version of macOS being used. For more recent versions of macOS (such as 12.7 as noted), the Kernel Panics logs are located in "/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports" and sometimes within the "Retired" subfolder (use the Finder to look for them since the Console app may not show all of them). Kernel Panic logs usually have "kernel" and/or "panic" in their file names. Post several of them here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper on the forum editing toolbar.

You can also run the third party app EtreCheck and post its complete report here so we can examine it for possible clues.

Thanks for your response.

The crashing is on a MacBook Pro Mid-2015, i7 2,5Ghz, Dual Graphics. It's running Monterey 12.7.6

The Retired folder was empty. The DiagnosticReports folder has 77 files. None with either kernel or panic in their names.

A couple are from the date the latest crash happened. Filetype is awd_date*.awd

There are a few that ends in *.core_analytics and their names are 90day,daily, journal, never.

If I had known I would have saved the one from yesterday but now the daily is from 30th of july and the crash happened 29th.

Site won't let my save the additional text. "An error occured while uploading, try again later."

I will try out the EtreCheck app.
