How to Import Videos from a GoPro to a Mac?

Hey,

Just got back from an awesome trip and my GoPro is full of vids. I wanna move everything to my Mac but not sure what’s the easiest way.

Should I just plug it in with a cable? Or is there a way to do it wirelessly?

Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Just plug your GoPro into your Mac with the USB-C cable or pop out the microSD card and use a card reader, macOS will mount it like any external drive and you can drag the files over. Wireless transfer with the Quik app works too, but it’s much slower and can get flaky with large 4K videos, so stick to wired if you’ve got a lot of footage.

Once imported, drop them into Photos, iMovie, or just keep them organized in Finder depending on how you plan to edit.
