My Macmail app on my 2017 iMac is not connecting to the Bigpond SMTP outgoing mail server.
Hi there, I have just been told by an Apple Mac representative that because my iMac is the 2017 model and the most up to date macOS this model has the capacity to install is Ventura 13.7.6, that I am now unable to send outgoing messages from my Macmail due to age of machine and OS. This seems utterly ludicrous and incredibly frustrating. The OS is only 3 years old and I am being told that my Macmail version is going to be too old. How is that possible? I can receive email messages but cannot send as all of a sudden the outgoing SMTP mailbox is Offline. I spent hours on the phone over the weekend with both Apple and Telstra and neither parties were able to solve my problem. The email server settings are correct as I can send/receive emails in Webmail and on my iPhone macmail app. I just can't send emails on the iMac. If anyone has any clues on this, or had a similar experience, please let me know! :)
