Carplay audio noise in certain model vehicles.

Hello! I found some noises when I using wired carplay on some certain vehicle models. When playing music from Apple Music and shows the full screen maps on CarPlay. Audio will have noise sounds like buzz. This only happened on certain models, 2023 Tundra or newer and 2024 Tacoma or newer, with the 13.2 inch screen(Those models have smaller screen choices on base model, which is around 7 inch, does not have this issue, I tested.)

So What cause this, maybe is the maps use too many bandwith of CarPlay since the screen is bigger and can display more map data in the same time? (Device is 15 Pro Max, Lossless audio is on, using wired CarPlay, cable is 1m thunderbolt 4 purchase from apple.)

This issue was first found in ios17, continue in iOS 18 until ios 18.5.

I tried change cable, erase device as new, restore device with backup, reset the vehicle, borrow my friend's device, All doesn't work, please don't post those solutions, thanks.

I tried 2 tacomas with 13" screen, 1 tacoma with 7", 1 tundra with 13"

1 2020 GLC300 with around 7"

1 Lucid around 7" and 1 2022 Pilot, i'm not sure the size but is around 7-8" screen, it match what I described.

So just you. No one else is reporting this. Since you say you’ve tried what you have and don’t want to be advised again I guess the only option is to suspect a hardware problem with your iPhone. What else can we recommend? CarPlay cannot be updated except by updating iOS, there is no stand alone installer. Make sure you are running the latest iOS 18.5. IOS 18.6 is on the way and iOS 26 is coming out this Fall. Maybe that will make a difference. For now you just have to live with it or take your iPhone to an Apple Store or Apple authorized service provider for examination and testing. Good luck and stay safe.

And for what it’s worth vehicle manufacturers are responsible for keeping their cars compatible with CarPlay, not Apple. Apple provides developers with advance versions for them to test.
