Lavalier microphone for Iphone 12

I want to make videos of me driving my convertible. iPhone mounted behind passenger seat. I tried a cheap mic which was unable to deal with engine noise even before I moved off (after 3 seconds sound became muffled and very bass heavy and clicked with my speaking). The sound produced by the iPhone built in mics is fine apart obviously for wind noise.

Any recommendations from personal use in similar circumstances of a mic which actually works? I’m not after studio quality, just something basic but acceptable. Thanks!
