iPod Touch 2nd Gen won't go into recovery mode.

I have an iPod touch 8GB model (A1288/Second Generation that I forgot the PIN to. It's stuck on the disabled screen. I've tried every method I can find and even connected it to the iMac it first synced to and nothing worked. Every time I try to put it into recovery mode, it just boots normally. I've been through too many forums and support pages, and I've given up figuring out on my own. Someone know how to fix this?
