On your iPhone, open the Settings app and look at the email address in light grey print below your name near the top of the screen. That is the primary email address of the Apple Account that your are signed into the phone with.
On your iMac, go to Apple menu (Apple icon at top left corner of the screen) > System Settings > and click on your user nam/icon at the top left of the sidebar. Then look at the email address below your circular user icon and your name at the top of the main Settings screen to the right of the sidebar.
Are the two email addresses the same? If so, you are signed into the same Apple Account on both.
IDSMA is just the authentication server that is used to handle logins to Apple accounts apps and services.
Thank you for those instructions. I am stuck on this part making sure I am logged in with correct apple account.& using the same apple account & password on my iPhone & iMac. It seems I have one user name with my phone # & another account with my email address. What is idmsa. Apple.com? It seems I have several user names & passwords.
