External DVD player malfunction.

When I insert a DVD into the external player, it starts playing normally, but only lasts 10 minutes, then stops and I have to restart it manually. After 10 minutes of watching, it stops again, then I have to restart, and so on. How can I fix this problem?

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 15.5

Does this do this with all DVD's? Perhaps the drive head needs cleaning. Why player do you have and is it connected directly to your Mac? If you use a hub try to connect directly.
