Apple CarPlay Play Button Is Not Working

Using an iPhone 15 Pro in a new Prius. First time I have had this problem. Everything works fine with the exception of the audio, which does not work. All appears normal with the exception of the play/pause button, which is inactive. Pressing it a thousand times does not help. Restarting the car and reconnecting does not work. I have not kicked the tires but am willing to give it a shot. Your help slash advice is much appreciated.
