Apple Rejection Due to Temporary Apple Pay Authorization – How to Support Recurring Payments?

Our app was recently rejected by Apple under Guideline 3.1.6 - Business - Payments - Apple Pay (see attached image).

The reason given is:

"Your app allows the user to temporarily authorize future Apple Pay purchases to be made in the app, which is not appropriate for the App Store."

In our implementation, we save the Apple Pay token using Braintree’s tokenize call for future transactions/autopay purposes

We would like to know how other apps using Braintree are handling Apple Pay for recurring payments or autopay while complying with App Store guidelines.
