2015 Macbook Pro Display Problems

I recently replaced the battery in my A1502 2015 MacBook Pro, it went reasonably well. The problem I have is that when I open the lid and press the power button. It chimes, keyboard lights up, but screen stays black. Here's the thing - if I close and re-open lid it lights up no problems and shows the boot screen and everything works perfectly. I've tried to reset the PRAM & SMC, but there is no difference. Does anyone have any ideas?

Some ideas to go by...

Troubleshooting Mac Power:

A. Black Mac Screen:

Go Here: If your Mac doesn't Turn On or Start Up - Apple Support

Using External Devices: Try Resetting the SMC and NVRAM, but this time, using an external keyboard. Connect an external monitor and see if you get an output.

B. Mac Power Issues:

Try a New Charger:

If it is currently charging from a charger, then use a new charger:

C. A Few Links to Refer to Power:

"Thanks for your response. The thing is I have drained and recharged a couple of times since the change, all working perfectly. It is also a genuine charger. I have reset the SMC and NVRAM with no difference. The Mac powers up and runs perfectly, it's just the screen does not display until I close then re-open the screen."

Based on Personal Experience:

I remember having this issue on my 2017 MBP --a totally different model. Nonetheless, screen issues were a big thing, and Apple gave my 3 grand laptop for the price no more than AppelCare. It was during COVID, and send-in service was the only available option to me, at the time. Being so patient, that's the reasoning for the free upgrade. My 2018 MPB is Intel-based, and Apple provides me with annual coverage. It is Intel-based, and it something I need. So, I plan to get annually coverage, so long as I still have a need for it.
