E-sim use in Italy issue iPhone 13 Pro

I am in Italy for business for a couple weeks. ATT user. I normally just use the international plan, but it’s $12/day. I got a Holafly e-sim for about $48. I got here and installed and activated it after a bunch of back and forth on Holafly support. It still isn’t working as planned. I wanted to use it exclusively while I was here for phone and data, but first it was working for data, but not phone. Back and forth all day of resetting and restarting and redoing. And still no cell or texting from the e-sim, won’t work at all, unless I change my settings to my primary carrier.

Any suggestions other than getting a Holafly refund and biting the bullet on the ATT pricing. I really thought it was going to be less hassle than this.

Thanks

Get a refund an either use the AT&T plan or use a cellular carrier in Italy that is actually supported for eSIM use on an iPhone. Holafly is NOT a supported eSIM carrier.

Edit: I assume your phone is actually unlocked...? If you purchased it using AT&T financing, it is NOT automatically unlocked once it's paid off. You have to contact AT&T and request an unlock so it can be used on other carriers.
